Submissions Guidelines

The Mustard Seed Press is dedicated to sharing stories and thoughtful writing that inspires Catholic women to grow in and share their faith. Our four pillars are Spiritual and Intellectual Formation and Liturgical and Community Living. Submissions should generally fall into one of these four categories.

All submissions are considered and are subject to review. Not all submissions will be published. Contributors who are accepted for publication will be notified through email and will work with our editor. All submissions undergo spiritual review by our spiritual director. Accepted contributors will receive a standard agreement outlining authorship rights, right to first publication on behalf of The Mustard Seed Press, permission to publish, and a promise to live by the teachings of the Catholic Church.

Submissions should be between 800 and 3000 words, though longer pieces will be considered. Shorter pieces for liturgical or community living will also be considered.
We follow AP format and any citations should be in-text. If you would like to contribute but are unsure if your piece falls within our guidelines, please submit it anyway!

Spiritual Formation: These pieces will encourage growth in the Catholic faith or explore aspects of faithful living. Theological explorations or meditations will also fall under this pillar.
Intellectual Formation: These pieces will more broadly inspire thought, whether it be an exploration of cultural trends or a polished piece of knowledge.
Liturgical Living: These pieces can be as short as sharing a favorite liturgical living tradition, or longer works focused on traditions, faithfulness through seasons, or sacramental living.
Community Living: These pieces will encourage hospitality or describe community building and growth. Homemaking or hosting tips comprise shorter pieces.

We look forward to working with you! Please use the form below to describe your work or email us directly at themustardseedpress@gmail.com.
